Duration: 1 day
NUS will be hosting a fringe event at the Compass Conference on Saturday 13 June to discuss the current higher education funding system and why it needs to be changed.
On the agenda:
- The first generation of students to pay top-up fees graduates this summer with unmanageable debt levels;
- Youth unemployment is predicted to pass 1 million by September 2009;
- 50% of firms are not recruiting school-leavers or graduates;
- The government is about to launch an independent review of variable fees to decide the future of higher education funding.
Come along and have your say on the matter. Email Alex Jones if you would like to attend.
The event will be taking place at the Compass Conference at the Institute of Education in London.
