Have you ever said to yourself ‘that would be better if…’ or ‘this isn’t right – something needs to change’?
Do you recycle because you believe it is better for the environment? Have you ever signed a petition? Maybe you have just clicked ‘like’ on a facebook status that represented your views on a topic or added a Twibbon to your profile picture.
All of these things are forms of activism. It’s about recognising something needs to change. However, a lot of the time people feel that they are unable to do anything about it.
NUS would like to invite you to a free event where you can discover what makes people tick, explore different ways for you to make your voice heard and network with like-minded people.
Whether you’re concerned about education or the environment, public service cuts or poverty, your local community or global justice, come and share, debate, learn, plan and make change happen.
When is this event taking place?
Saturday 19 November
Goldsmiths, Central London
10:00-17:00
What’s the agenda for the day?
The event will be delivered through a huge menu of workshops, talks, discussions, master classes and debates, and culminate in a mass rally.
On the same day, students in Scotland will be holding a campaigning and activism event of their own at the first-ever NUS Scotland Zone Conference.
