Protest and Your Rights

NUS is an organisation that campaigns nationally on issues that affect you, however we also believe that it is really important that you have the ability, skills and knowledge to run campaigns on your campus and in your city.

We also believe that peaceful protest has played a major role in bringing about important social and political changes.

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve joined together with Liberty, one of the UK’s leading human rights organisations, to put together some information for you on protest and your rights.

This short document should tell you all your need to know about organising marches and demonstrations, as well as your legal rights and information about police powers and tactics.

Student Activism 2011 will be taking place at Goldsmiths in New Cross, London, THIS Saturday 19th November, 10am - 5pm, Student Activism 2011 is a not-to-be-missed date in any student activist's calendar. It would be great if you could join us.
