We will be providing you with resources and ideas throughout the year, but to kick-start your activity TUC are hosting a launch event in February. We have also developed an initial briefing to provide you with more information and we have created downloadable posters to make this campaign more visual on your campus.
Resources to inspire your local campaign
NUS have put together a briefing, along with University Colleges Union (UCU) and aimed at students’ unions and UCU members, that provides advice and guidance on internships. You may wish to take a look to see what action your union could be taking for this campaign.
It also talks about why unpaid internships are a concern for NUS and UCU.
Download the briefing.
Is your University/College Career Service advertising unpaid internships?
Start this campaign on your campus now. University/College careers services often advertise unpaid internships, most of them are illegal and they encourage students, particularly those that are in a difficult position when it comes to employment after university, to apply for unpaid work. Many of which believe this is the only way to get a foot into industry, but we know this is not the case.
If your university/college careers service advertises unpaid internships you can download this poster to display around your campus and make students aware of this campaign.
